A timeless keepsake, created in real time.
Imagine your wedding day captured not just in photos — but on canvas, as it unfolds. Live wedding painting adds a touch of magic to your celebration, turning one of your most meaningful moments into a beautiful, one-of-a-kind work of art.
Guests love watching the process, and you’ll walk away with a finished painting that reflects the light, emotion, and energy of your day — refined in the studio and ready to hang in your home.
I work closely with each couple to choose the perfect moment to capture, from first kisses to ocean dips.

What to Expect on the Wedding Day
Before the big day, I work closely with the couple (or their wedding planner) to choose the perfect moment to capture — whether it’s walking down the aisle, a first kiss, or something uniquely meaningful to them. I arrive early to set up so I’m ready to begin painting as the reception kicks off.
Using a reference photo taken during the day, I begin painting live at the reception. Guests get to enjoy the process as the scene evolves from a blank canvas into a vibrant, heartfelt work of art.
While the majority of the painting is completed during the reception, I bring the piece back to my studio to refine the details — adding special touches like lace, flowers, and subtle highlights that make the final piece truly shine.
When it’s ready, I send you a photo to make sure everything feels just right. Once approved, the painting is signed, varnished for protection, and finished with hardware so it’s ready to hang — a lasting reminder of your most beautiful day.
⏰ Timing & Presence
I typically arrive at the venue about an hour before the ceremony begins. This gives me time to set up my materials and be fully present to witness and capture the moment we’ve chosen for the painting — whether it’s your walk down the aisle, a first kiss, or another meaningful scene.
Once the reference photo is taken, I transition into painting mode during the reception. I usually stay until late in the evening — often between 10 and 11 p.m. — so your guests can watch the artwork evolve throughout the night. If there’s a particular time you’d like me to stay until, I’m happy to accommodate your vision.
🎉 Guest Interaction
One of my favourite parts of live wedding painting is sharing the experience with your guests. Everyone is welcome to come by, watch the painting come to life, and ask questions as I work. I love chatting about the process, the moment being captured, or art in general — it’s a beautiful way to invite your loved ones into the magic of the day.
Choosing and Capturing the Moment
Some couples know exactly what moment they want painted — their first kiss, a walk down the aisle, or even something adventurous and personal, like a dip in the ocean in full wedding attire. Others come to me with a feeling they want to capture, and I’m happy to help them choose a scene that reflects their love story.
We’ll choose reference photos together, and sometimes I combine elements from several — perhaps one for the light on the water, another for the lace on a veil, and another for the expression on your faces. Every detail is considered to create a piece that feels just right.
In my style, the couple is always the heart of the painting. I use soft, romantic brushwork in the background to gently fade distractions and draw the eye directly to you. I love enhancing light and adding small touches of color that elevate the emotion and energy of the moment —bringing warmth and intimacy to the final piece
📸 Capturing the Moment
To ensure the painting reflects your day as beautifully as possible, I take the reference photo myself during the wedding. Sometimes couples leave it entirely in my hands, trusting me to choose the composition that will translate best to canvas. Other times, we review a few options together so you can select the one that feels most meaningful to you.
Whether guided by instinct or collaboration, the photo becomes the foundation for your painting — a reference for light, movement, expression, and detail — carefully transformed into something timeless.
Canvas Sizes and Prices
I paint on high-quality birch gallery panels, which offer a smooth, elegant surface and a lasting fine art finish. The most popular sizes for live wedding paintings are:
• 16x20” — $3200
• 18x24” — $4320
Other sizes are available by request. If you’re envisioning something larger, a natural next step up is:
• 24x30” — $5760
This size allows for even more detail and visual impact — perfect for grander venues or statement artwork in your home.
Your live wedding painting is more than décor — it’s a keepsake of one of the most meaningful moments in your life. I’m happy to work with you to choose the size and scene that fits your vision.
🛏 Travel & Accommodations
If your venue is outside the Halifax Regional Municipality, accommodations will be required. You’re welcome to book them directly, or I can arrange accommodations and invoice you.
💳 Payment Details
A 50% deposit is required to reserve your wedding date. The remaining balance is due one week before the event.
Flexible payment plans are available — I’m happy to work with your schedule.
Payments can be made via e-transfer or PayPal.
I take on a limited number of weddings each month to ensure every couple receives my full attention and creative energy. Some dates book more than a year in advance — so if your heart is set on a live painting, I recommend reaching out as soon as possible to secure your spot.
